My name is Marrit and I am a wine lover! How convenient… My passion for wine started to grow as I was doing an internship in 2011 in the Mosel wine region in Germany. I must honestly admit that before I left, I expected to find a touristic area where mainly older people would drink sweet wine from glasses with a green, twisted foot. But the opposite was true! I had the opportunity to work with several young winemakers, who produce top wines and have a modern view on the wine world. Here I discovered my passion to make a translation between winemaker and wine lover. After completing my studies International Business and Languages in the Netherlands, I moved to the Mosel to work there for Weingut Walter J. Oster for 2 years. At this winery I was responsible for marketing, wine tastings, wine tours and more. It gave me the opportunity to learn a lot about wine.

“Do what you love, love what you do.”

Once I returned to the Netherlands, the idea of working with wine wouldn’t leave my mind. That’s how UN-WINED was born. Many of my friends and family enjoy a glass of wine every now and then, but often do not know which wine to choose or how to discover the taste differences between the wines they find in their supermarket or wine store. With great pleasure I can advise them and give simple tips to make finding the right wine easier. That’s my passion: To show you that it is not that difficult to find a suitable wine. I myself did not follow an extensive sommelier-training either. It is because of my practical experience in the wine field (supplemented with several wine courses) that I stand close to the average wine drinker. I can show that it is even for a “wine-dummy” possible to find your way through the wine world.

“Let’s unwin(e)d!”
